Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel Irritates the Players After Scheduling Practice On Their Day Off

Chelsea News: The mood at the Blues’ camp has not been very good in recent days. Head coach Thomas Tuchel has now made it worse by asking the players to train on their day off. 

The Chelsea players have reportedly been “irritated” after being called into training on Sunday as per the Daily Mail. The training session was held just a day after their 2-2 draw against the Wolves. 

Chelsea looked set to be heading to a 2-1 win against the Wolves courtesy of a Romelu Lukaku brace. However, a Conor Coady goal in injury time ensured that the points would be shared at Stamford Bridge. 

Following this, Thomas Tuchel arranged the practice session on Sunday. The game between Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge was also attended by the new Blues’ owner Todd Boehly.

Chelsea News: As per reports, Thomas Tuchel is doing everything to improve the club’s form. Hence, the Blues manager feels that more training sessions would help the team in their current predicament. 

The Blues have suffered a slump in form since the last week of April. Courtesy of this Chelsea have won just 1 of their last 5 Premier League games. Hence, there is a cause for concern in the Blues’ setup. 

The London-based club looked set to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. However, the most recent slump could now see them miss out on the competition if they fail to pick up points in their last three games. 

Chelsea currently occupy the third spot in the Premier League with 67 points. Fourth-placed Arsenal and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur are hot on their heels with 66 points and 62 points respectively.

Hence the Blues need at least four points from their remaining three games in order to guarantee a Champions League berth for next season. Chelsea’s final three Premier League games are scheduled against Leeds United, Leicester City, and Watford. Hence, it would certainly not be an easy task. 

To add to this, Chelsea are set to contest the finals of the FA Cup against Liverpool on 14th May. Having lost the previous two FA Cup finals, Thomas Tuchel is certainly hoping to change the trend as the Blues look to add another trophy to their name this season.

Chelsea News: As the season draws to a close, the upcoming games could be the last few for certain players. Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, and Andreas Christensen are a few players who are headed out of the club in the summer as per reports.

To add to this, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Marcos Alonso, Romelu Lukaku, and Jorginho are also linked with transfer possibilities. Hence Todd Boehly would have to conduct “proper” transfer business as soon as he takes over the club in order to maintain the elite status for next season.
