This star player of Chelsea has been in incredible form and has 11 clean sheets to his name, more than any goalkeeper across any European competition. He has conceded just two goals in his last 12 Premier League games and is definitely on the radar of many top football clubs.
According to the reports published this star is currently being paid 1,00,000 pounds by the EPL table toppers and the club, management is planning to increase his pay to 1,50,000 pounds per week.
They are also planning to increase his current transfer value to more than 70 million pounds to fend off Real Madrid just as they did back in 2015.
Real Madrid before its transfer ban had approached Chelsea regarding Courtois however they were shocked to hear a price value of 73 million dollars demanded by the West London based club.
Following their recent suspension of the ban, Real Madrid is now allowed to have new players at Bernabeu this summer and Chelsea fear that the Spanish Giants may once again try to lure Courtois away from the club.
They are trying hard to extend his contract with the club, while Real are also looking for an option to their primary keeper Keylor Navas.
Courtois saw a dip in his career last year. However, 2016 has proved to be a major booster for this Belgian national. First proving his worth as a player in Atletico Madrid, Courtois this year has been a major support system for Chelsea’s framework.
What About Keylor Navas?
Adapting to this La Liga wouldn’t be a much of a problem for Courtois who has spent three seasons playing for Atletico Madrid, but Real definitely will need to think about their present keeper Navas, if at all they decided to go through this transfer seriously.
Keylor Navas had his bag packed back when De Gea was brought in from Manchester United, but due to some poor time management and a bit of carelessness, his paperwork wasn’t submitted on time, and Navas was back again as the Real’s first choice keeper.
Since then Keylor Navas has been in incredible form, and it wouldn’t be easy for Real to fit in both these keepers in their stash, certainly when none of them is underperforming.
