Chelsea Not Ready to Give Up On Their Midfield Target, As Premier League Giants Eager To Complete Move

Though there have been recent speculations that Merseyside outfit Everton are closing in on a deal to bring Belgium international Axel Witsel to Goodison Park this summer, former champions of England, Chelsea are just not ready to give up on their target yet. It seems that the Blues are now ready to make a late move for the 27 year old superstar and The Sun reports that the west London outfit have already agreed to terms with the player’s agents.

With Antonio Conte ready to take over the Premier League outfit, Chelsea might be asked to spend around £28m in order to bring their target to Stamford Bridge.

Witsel has just one year left on his current deal with the Russian club and is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe. The Londoners have now grown tired of trying to complete a deal for AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan and it seems have finally given up on their ambitions to bring him to England.

On the other hand, Ronald Koeman’s arrival at Everton has seen the Toffees be more adventurous and the club are now looking to spend big on some of their targets.

If a deal does go through indeed, apart from the Dutchman’s side, Serie A champions Juventus and their domestic rivals Napoli and Inter Milan will lose out on the former Benfica man as well.

With a lot of rumours going around in recent times regarding the player’s future, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
