Chelsea wants to raise funds by selling fringe players to make signings for the next season.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich invested £247 million into the club over the past two years despite a year-long transfer ban in 2019. Frank Lampard has made only one signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in 2019.
But he successfully developed a core of youngsters, while they could have they didn’t go for players in January 2020. It could be said Lampard was contempt with the squad for now. But not all players signed under previous managers Antonio Conte and Mauricio Sarri impressed Frank Lampard.
He wants to bring in better players to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City. And Although they do have a financial advantage over other clubs, some players might have to be sold.
The main reason for that is their inability to cement their place in the squad. But another main reason is Chelsea’s transfer targets like Coutinho, Werner, and Chilwell would require huge financial backup.
According to Fichajes, these Chelsea players are available for transfers.
1.) Michy Batshuayi : €40,00 million
The Belgian was signed by Antonio Conte but failed to secure the spot for a go-to striker for Chelsea. He was on loan for 2 seasons and also lost game time due to injuries.
Thus if he departs the Blues must sign a backup striker. They are also looking to sign Mousa Dembele or Timo Werner. Batshuayi too could use a fresh start in his career as he is still just 26.
2.) Emerson Palmieri: €24 million
Signed by Sarri from AS Roma he failed to be a regular starter. The 25 years old Italian played 14 games (13 starts) this season. He and Marcos Alonso were both replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta at LB. This was because Lampard doesn’t trust both of them defensively.
According to a Tuttosport, the player himself is keen on a return to Serie-A with Inter and Juve interest. Chelsea are keen on finding a replacement at left-back. There have been links with Chilwell and Telles. Emerson’s transfer value is €25 million and his transfer would be a good boost to the club’s financials.
3.) Kurt Zouma: €28 million
The young Frenchman made 22 appearances this season including 19 starts. Despite being fast and comfortable on the ball he hasn’t been able to secure his place in the squad.
Although the player has just made his return from injury this season. Lampard believes there is certainly room for improvement. But Chelsea also has links with Dayot Upamaceno and Umtiti. If the club makes a push to sign either of them it could very well result in Zouma’s departure.
4.) Ross Barkley: €21 million
Barkley on various occasions has been given a chance to prove his worth. The English international has shown spark in his performances but lacks the consistency Lampard wants.
While Lampard does have Barkley in his plans for the future. It would not be surprising if the club changes its stance in next year’s transfer market. Ross Barkley’s current value is around €21 million dollars. Although if he were to regain his form Chelsea could benefit from his sale.
