With Chelsea looking to bring in reinforcements next summer, one Blues’ star has gone on to reveal his future at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea star seems to be enjoying himself this season and with 14 goals across the Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League and the EFL Cup, he’s become a highly sought after player especially after his performances in the first leg of the round of 16 against Barcelona. But with Chelsea looking to sack Antonio Conte, after what a horrible post title win season, the Blues’ star has been linked with a move away.
However, despite that Willian is still insistent that he is very happy at Chelsea and wants no move away from the Bridge. The Brazilian international has been linked with moves to Barcelona, Manchester United and even the Serie A, with clubs seriously chasing after the 29-year-old’s experience and talent as a winger.
But amid the increasing transfer talk and rumors, Willian went on to tell the Daily Mail [via Goal.com] “I like the Premier League. I like Chelsea. My dream was to come here to play for Chelsea so it’s a dream come true. For me the Premier League is the best league in the world. And London is a great city. My family love to live here.
After Brazil, London is my favourite city. I love to live here. I did the best choice by joining Chelsea because I have already won two Premier Leagues and a League Cup in five years. This season has been difficult because we have lost a lot of points, especially at home. That is why we are in this position now. here’s no reason why. It’s football. We have been unlucky.
The inform Chelsea midfielder is in peak shape and conditions despite being 29 and has revealed that a change in diet and exercise has lead to him being in the best shape of his life. But despite Willian’s form, the winger has been able to stop Chelsea’s struggles in the Premier League as the Blues sit fifth and struggle to make up the pace for a Champions League spot in the top four.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man went on to add “We are doing the exact same job as we did last season. But football is like that. For example, we were in control during the last game against West Ham and could have won 4-1 or 4-0 but we drewI think our target was to stay in the top four and we are fifth. The only title we can win is the FA Cup so we go for that. Next season we will be back stronger to try to win again.”
Author’s take:
The 29-year-old is a first-team star at Stamford Bridge and with Chelsea looking to give him a new contract extension the smart move would be to sign it. While Barcelona and Manchester United, could and would give him a bigger payday, Willian would find his playing time cut short and struggle to make the Brazil squad ever again.
