Chelsea star to miss the rest of October’s games

Injury woes for Antonio Conte continue as N’Golo Kante is likely to miss 6 games in October. The Frenchman is the latest inclusion in Chelsea’s injuries list which already has the likes of Alvaro Morata and Danny Drinkwater.

Kante injured his hamstring on international duty

Kante will be out of action for at least 3 weeks

The Frenchman got substituted at the 34th minute in France‘s 1-0 victory over Bulgaria on Saturday night. The injury was later diagnosed as a torn hamstring adding to Conte’s worries.

Chelsea is close to a very hectic schedule after their shock 2-1 loss to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace. Adding to that, the Blues have two Champions League games against Roma in the coming weeks. With Kante injured, Conte will look to rely on his new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas in midfield.

Conte hopes for a quick recovery

The Italian manager is very happy about Kante’s performance so far, thus hoping for a quick recovery from Frenchman.

He brought a great will, a great will to fight, He’s a humble man, a humble player. I like these type of players who put the team before themselves.

He is brave. He is not tall but he has great qualities: good stamina, good technique, a good personality. He covers a lot of ground. He is a player important to the balance.

We are pleased to have him. N’Golo is an important player for the present and for the future. You can make mistakes but you can see the quality.” said Conte praising his star Midfielder.

The star midfielder played vital role in Chelsea’s title win last season

Kante has been a vital player for Chelsea after his signing from Leicester City last season for a fee of £32 million. The Frenchman played an important role in midfield for Conte throughout the season, thus inspiring Chelsea to win the title.

The Player of the Year award winner of the last season has 2 goals in 42 matches in the Blues’ jersey so far.

Author’s Take-

Chelsea’s boss is surely having a great trouble in selecting his squad for coming matches. With Morata already sidelined and Kante getting injured now, we might see some new tactics. The Italian manager is likely to field Pedro with Hazard and Batshuayi at the front, while Bakayoko’s qualities will be tested in Kante’s absence.
