Chelsea star striker Diego Costa has rejected an offer from a Chinese Super League club, to stay with the Blues.
Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian has had a bid of £50m rejected by Chelsea to sign their striker Diego Costa. But as per the latest reports, they are planning an improved bid of £80m to sign the Spaniard.
Diego Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2014, after the Blues agreed to meet the £32 million buy-out clause in Costa’s contract. He has already scored more than 50 goals for Chelsea from 90 appearances. Recently Costa said that he had plans to leave the club, but later decided to stay in Premier League.
Costa said, “Yes, yes, I was about to leave.”
“I was about to… but, well, I’m happy here as well and that’s that.”
“I had the possibility to go to Atletico, because of a few things. The family, the life I have there… but not because of Chelsea. Here, there’s a lot of love with the supporters, with the people, so I’m very happy, I’m very content.”

Costa also said that he is happy to play under Antonio Conte. “There was one thing I wanted to change for family reasons but it wasn’t to be, and I continue happy here.”
“It was important too that the manager, from the very first minute, he counted on me,” said Costa.
But various media outlets report that Tianjin Quanjian is eyeing an improved bid of £80m for Costa. According to the Sun, Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes has already rejected the first bid from Chinese club.
A source told The Sun: “Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes was working on the deal for Tianjin but Chelsea said no to the bid.”
“It was around £50m and wages of £480,000-a-week would have put him among the highest earners in the world.”
“At the moment, the club are seriously thinking about going back in with a much-improved offer.” “They’re thinking about £80m would be more than right for a player his age.”

Recently, another Chinese club made an incredible £80m swoop for Chelsea midfielder Oscar. It is understood that Chinese clubs are looking to sign Brazilian players thereby ensuring more publicity for their league.
Sun also reports that “Costa is Brazil-born and the Chinese believe Brazilian footballers are best suited to their league. The division is full of them. Hulk, Oscar, Paulinho, Alex Teixeira and Ramires are to name only a few out here.”
The 28-year old striker is now enjoying his third season at Stamford Bridge and is also the top scorer in Premier League this season.
