Chelsea Star Told To Snub Serious Suitor for Serie A giants

Serie A giants AC Milan have reportedly asked Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata to reject a move to Juventus and join them instead.

Morata has struggled in his debut season in the Premier League with Chelsea after being the club’s record purchase at £60 million. The Spaniard had initially got off to a good start with the Blues but a back injury that led to poor form put Morata off the tracks ever since. Chelsea also brought Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window and the Frenchman has pushed Morata further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The lack of opportunities mixed with unhappiness has linked Morata with a move away from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. There is a hoard of top elite clubs on the lookout for the 25-year-old centre-forward as well as his former club Juventus, but the Old Lady will face some stiff competition to battle for his signature.

Inside News-

According to Corriere dello Sport, Juve’s league rivals AC Milan are also keen on bringing back Morata to the Serie A with a catch. Although Juventus seem to be frontrunners for Morata, AC Milan is guaranteeing the Spaniard regular football at the San Siro, something that he has lacked at Chelsea and probably could at Turin as well.

The likes of Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Gonzalo Higuain and even Douglas Costa provide a strong competition for a starting place at Juventus and this could force Morata to look at alternatives. Milan is looking to bring back the glory days of yester-decade and be a recognizable force in Europe making Morata their prime target in the summer transfer window.

Atletico Madrid has also been keeping tabs on the former Real Madrid striker.

Author’s Take-

This is an incredible plot from AC Milan to lure Morata to the San Siro this summer transfer window. But it’s strange that so many clubs are interested in a striker that has fared so badly in English football. Anyways I feel Morata should go wherever he can play regular football and AC Milan can look to give him that to thrive on.
