The player was a speculated to leave due to less playing time.
Since the announcement of Christian Pulisic, there has been a lot of speculation going on who will leave Chelsea. Chelsea fans are convinced that their talisman Eden Hazard could be leaving Stamford Bridge. It seems Bayern Munich have come to an agreement with Chelsea to sign this starlet.
Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi already has an agreement in place with Bayern Munich and is demanding a January move. According to German journalist Raphael Honigstein, Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi could follow the path of his countrymen, Jadon Sancho. The Bundesliga champions have identified the 18-year-old as one of their primary targets this month. Bayern have offered him a way out of Stamford Bridge. The Bavarian giants have reportedly already seen bids of £15m and £20m rejected by the Blues. Hudson-Odoi has less than 18 months remaining on his current contract. He was rumored to leave this season.
Having impressed in pre-season under Maurizio Sarri, the forward has been limited to just one league appearance this term.
And the arrival of 20-year-old winger Christian Pulisic in the summer from Borussia Dortmund has likely further pushed him towards the exit door. Raphael Honigstein said Chelsea are reluctant to let him leave. But the fact Bayern are refusing to back down in their pursuit suggests Hudson-Odoi has already made his mind up. Honigstein told the Transfer Talk podcast, “Chelsea will be hoping they will change his mind by turning these bids down now. Unless he gets more game-time, he’s pretty adamant he’s moving. The fact Bayern are making these bids should be taking as a strong sign that the player wants to do this move. Bayern would not come back with a second bid if they didn’t feel they already had the agreement with the player to make this happen.”
Author’s Take:
It seems Houdson Odoi will follow the path of Jadon Sancho by joining a Bundesliga side. However, Chelsea are only to blame themselves. They let the likes of De Bruyne, Salah and Cuadrado leave and are doing the same thing by letting Odoi go. Chelsea should invest more in developing players rather than signing players.
