Chelsea owner Roman Abromovich took a bold decision by sacking their legend Frank Lampard from management. Lampard spent close to 18 months at Chelsea. He guided Chelsea to fourth place in the previous season.
However, it is a different story altogether this season. They are struggling to win games as they lost a barrage of games including 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Lampard managed to guide his team to 8 wins but lost 6 games.
Chelsea board decided that it is best to sack the manager in current circumstances. Chelsea owner and Russian Billionaire Roman Abromovich also paid a rich tribute to Lampard in an official club statement. He further went on to wish him success in the future.
Lampard also posted an emotional message after his sacking. He wished Chelsea the best of luck for future endeavors. Thomas Tuchel has replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea Boss this season. He will be looking forward to helping the Blues in the second half of the ongoing season.

Chelsea set to complete the first transfer
In the latest development, Chelsea’s left-back identified as Baba Rahman is set to leave the club on loan. This is said to be the first transfer since Lampard’s exit as manager. As per media outlets, Chelsea currently has 31 confirmed players out on loan for 2020/21.
Baba joined Chelsea in 2015 on a £14 million deal but his spell for the Blues has been ruined by knee injuries. Hence, he was jumping around on loan in between those string of injuries. But the 26-year-old is fit as a fiddle after having turned up for the under-23s this season. After missing so much time on the pitch, he will now look to prove himself elsewhere.
The 26-year-old left-back made only 15 match appearances for Chelsea. He hardly got a chance to play for the Blues since his 2015 arrival from Augsburg. He spent most of his time far away from the Blues on loan.
Interestingly, he also had 2 spells at Schalke including his spells at Reims and Mallorca. In order to get regular game time and to spend more time on the pitch, he is set to move out again.
The left-back was left out of Chelsea’s Premier League squad for the starting half of the season. He was also unlikely to be added to the revised squad for the next half of the season.
To get more game time, the left-back is all set to join Greek outfit PAOK on a six-month loan deal till the end of the 2020/21 season, according to Sport24, who claim a deal has been agreed.
Why PAOK show interest in Rahman?
PAOK are now fourth in the Greek Super League table. They are desperately fighting for second place and are 3 points below second-placed Aris. It is said that Rahman is being roped in to replace Dimitris Giannoulis at the left-back position.
PAOK is offloading Dimitris for time being as he is joining Norwich City on loan this month. As per the report, Baba was initially offered to Greek champions Olympiakos before the January transfer window opening. But they roped in Oleg Reabciuk.
