Former champions of England have been planning to sign a lot of players in the current transfer window, with Antonio Conte all set to take over at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been linked with a lot of players, who could be expected to come in to the squad, with the arrival of the former Juventus manager at the club. The Italy boss is expected to have a liking for players from the Serie A and could bring in some top quality stars this summer.
Despite all the players coming in, Conte will have to hold on to one of the Blues’ more consistent defenders in recent times. There have been recent claims now linking full-back Cesar Azpilicueta with a move to either the club’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and La Liga champs Barcelona.
The 26-year old superstar, who plays as a left-back for the west London outfit, was often linked with a move away from the club.
However, it seems that this time the interest from the Red Devils could be a major threat with former boss Jose Mourinho looking to bring the Spaniard to Old Trafford.
Despite all the claims, the Sun has given some good news as it reports that Conte will fend off any interest for his star player, as he is surely not willing to sell any time soon.
The player was an integral part of the team which won the top flight of English football and the League Cup double in the 2014-15 season, during the regime of the “Special One”.
Though the Londoners did not play well last season, Azpilicueta definitely looked better than some of his team-mates at the back, which has urged Conte to retain his services.
