Chelsea Transfer News: The Blues have lost out on Antonio Rudiger as per reports. The German defender has agreed on a deal worth €400,000-per-week with Real Madrid.
Following the UK government’s sanctions, the Blues have been unable to conduct any “financial” talks with their players. Hence, Thomas Tuchel has suffered his first major blow before the summer transfer window has even officially begun.
Chelsea were reportedly in talks for a contract extension with Antonio Rudiger. The German defender was ready to extend his contract but wanted a significant pay rise.
However, the negotiations had to be halted as Chelsea were termed a “frozen asset” of Roman Abramovich. The Blues still can’t conduct any transfer business and they would have to wait until Todd Boehly becomes the “official” owner of the club.

Chelsea Transfer News: As per Sky Sports, A deal has been finalized between Antonio Rudiger and Real Madrid. The official confirmation of the same would be updated in the coming days.
Antonio Rudiger will reportedly join Real Madrid on a four-year deal. Los Blancos will be paying the defender an eye-watering €400,000-per-week for his services as per reports.
Thomas Tuchel had earlier clarified that the 29-year-old defender would quite possibly leave the club at the end of the season. The Chelsea boss blamed the sanctions for the departure of Rudiger.
As per Thomas Tuchel, Antonio Rudiger wanted to stay at Chelsea. But the defender did not want to wait 1-2 months for the new owner to come in and give him an offer. Hence, the German defender decided to explore other horizons.
Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus were also close on the heels of Antonio Rudiger. His agent talked to all of the mentioned clubs. But the 29-year-old eventually chose to move to Real Madrid after considerations.
Thomas Tuchel would now be tasked to improve Chelsea’s backline. But the German manager could have more trouble brewing in front of him as Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta could also be leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer.
