Chelsea transfer news: The Blues have made a new offer to FC Barcelona for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Chelsea have made Aubameyang a transfer target as they look to bolster their attacking department before the summer transfer window closes.
The Blues have seen Romelu Lukaku leave the club on loan to Serie A side Inter Milan this summer. Timo Werner has also left the club, joining German side RB Leipzig on a permanent transfer. Hence, Chelsea is short on attacking options and is looking to sign an attacker before the transfer window slams shut.
Chelsea had earlier made a £15m plus Marcos Alonso offer to Barcelona for Aubameyang, but the Catalan outfit rejected that proposal. Barcelona wants Chelsea to up their price and not include Alonso in the deal.

However, Aubameyang could see his game reduce at the club following Barcelona’s signing of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is expected to be Barca’s preferred choice for the no.9 position.
Aubameyang was restricted to an appearance off the bench in Barcelona’s first game of the La Liga 22/23 season. He came on in the 82nd minute, replacing Jordi Alba, as Rayo Vallecano held Barcelona to a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang’s contract with Barcelona expires only in 2025, meaning he has three years left on his current deal with the Spanish side.
