A former Birmingham City academy product, Jude Bellingham became the youngest ever player to represent the Blues on the senior team. In the upcoming days, he also became Birmingham’s youngest ever goalscorer.
Within a few months of his senior team career, Bellingham started to get bigger offers from many teams. Finally, he decided to join Borussia Dortmund at the start of the 2020-21 season.
In Dortmund, Bellingham gradually continued his development and started to feature in the first team dynamics soon. Bellingham then scored in his Dortmund debut and became the youngest player to do so. So far Bellingham has already got 31 goal contributions in 99 appearances for the German team.
Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea joined the race for Bellingham
Since Todd Boehly’s takeover, the American has shown great intent to improve the squad and started a structural overhaul.
He spent over £260 million in the summer and signed players like Aubameyang, Cucureilla, Koulibally and many more. Boehly then sacked Thomas Tuchel and brought English coach Graham Potter to take charge.
Now Boehly has reportedly eyed Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham for the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, signing Bellingham will not be easy at all as three other clubs Manchester United Liverpool and Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in the English midfielder.
Since the arrival of Ten Hag, Manchester United are rebuilding their squad. They have added Brazilian midfielder Casemiro in the midfield. However, the Red Devils failed to land Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong.
United now are looking to improve their midfield once again and they like Jude Bellingham very much. With the United board ready to splash money on talents, they are now one of the favourites to sign Bellingham.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is currently going through a midfield crisis. They have a lot of their central midfielders injured and their recent loanee Arthur has not impressed Klopp at all. They further missed their summer target Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Reds have had a deep interest in the midfield for a long time. They now have to make a decision about their stagnant midfield, sooner or later. So a move for Bellingham is very likely and the Reds will hugely benefit from such a transfer.
Defending European champions Real Madrid are a keen follower of Jude Bellingham. Madrid is now looking to replace their iconic trio of “Kroos-Casemiro-Modric”. They have already started the process and sold Casemiro. However, they have strengthened their squad with the arrival of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.
Real Madrid is known for their financial power and their historic pull to attract superstars. They are undoubtedly the hot favourites to land Bellingjam next summer and if they succeed to do so, they will have a set midfield for the upcoming decade.
Bellingham though has not given any indication about moving from Dortmund and recently said “The club have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful.”
However, despite all this Bellingham will surely remain in the centre of the transfer talks and will expectedly fetch £100 million. With World Cup coming up, Bellingham’s stocks can rise high if he does anything fancy in Qatar.
