Chelsea Will Be Making €40m Bid For Euro 2016 Winner Wanted By Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho

Joao Mario did play his part in helping Portugal win the Euro 2016 tournament, as the underdogs did the unexpected beating the hosts France. A lot of clubs must have been observing the tournament easily and might have been impressed by the performances put in by the Sporting Lisbon man. There had been previous links that Manchester United were keen on bringing him to Old Trafford and it seems now that Chelsea are back in the hunt as well. The Blues are now preparing an offer to sign the midfielder, as confirmed by reports coming in from his native country now.

According to O Jogo, the west London outfit will  offer the Portuguese outfit a fee of around €40m for their target, with new boss Antonio Conte said to be a fan of the youngster’s play.

There have no official bids been made for the 23 year old superstar yet, but the two clubs are said to be in talk with each other through their agents and intermediates.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport further added that Serie A outfit Inter Milan were ready to pay around €25m for the star, though his current club wanted more and might now consider the west London club’s bid for their priced possession.

The player is said to have a €60m release clause in his current deal, though €40m is also a good fee with some potential add-ons that could be merged with his contract that will be offered to him by the Premier League giants.

Mario is now represented by Kia Joorabchian, the Iranian agent who has a good past with the Londoners and had helped them sign stars like David Luiz, Oscar, Willian, Ramires and Alexandre Pato previously. Keeping that in mind, a deal could go through soon.
