Thomas Tuchel will take over from Unai Emery at the end of this season rejecting a chance to manage Chelsea in the process
The German has been out of work since being sacked by Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. Several clubs are in the race for Tuchel’s signatures. Arsenal was the early-favourites to acquire his services to replace the much-maligned Arsene Wenger. However, ESPN is reporting that a meeting with PSG Chairman Naseer al Khelaifi has ensured that Tuchel will manage the Parisians next season.
Thomas Tuchel will be the new PSG coach, reports @LaurensJulien. Al Khelaifi preferred Conte while sporting director Henrique pushed for Fonseca & Jardim. "But in the end it was the Emir of Qatar himself, who owns PSG, who decided Tuchel was the right man" https://t.co/aZ2BaBIbhA

Earlier this month, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia also held talks with the former Mainz boss about replacing Conte. The Italian is said to be as good as sacked given Chelsea’s recent results and his constant outbursts regarding Chelsea’s transfer policy.
Conte was another name on al Khelaifi’s wishlist and he held a meeting with the Italian’s representatives. However, the report from ESPN further goes on to state Tuchel’s style of play and tactical acumen impressed the PSG Chairman.
The Blues will now have to look elsewhere in search of Conte’s replacement. Luis Enrique has long been touted as the preferred choice. However, he has stalled on confirming his interest and that has put off the Chelsea higher-ups. Thus, they have now turned their attention to Massimiliano Allegri. The Juventus manager recently revealed that his Italian adventure is over and will manager abroad when his stint with the Old Lady comes to an end.
Allegri’s recent comments have placed him firmly in the pole position to take over from Conte
Meanwhile, Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has been the latest name linked with Chelsea’s top job. Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone remain the most unlikely options.
This will surely come as a huge blow for not only Chelsea but also for several other clubs around Europe. Tuchel has proven his talent during his time with Dortmund. PSG, however, will be happy to have sealed for a top manager and will be hoping that the German can lead them to that elusive Champions League crown.
