Eden Hazard made the mark to his season start last night by making a short cameo for Real Madrid. The Belgium International was out with injury for a while now and is ready to make a return. But it seems as though his fans from former club Chelsea, miss him more than the Madridistas.
Hazard left Chelsea to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 but has not been able to bring a flare. The 29-year-old cost £103.50m for Real and was a dream signing. But contrary to their hopes, injuries have not allowed Hazard to play at his maximum.
Even with his lack of impressive strides on the pitch, Chelsea fans still love their former ace. Since joining the Blues in 2012, Hazard has been an integral part of the Chelsea lineup. The news of Hazard making an exit did not sync well with many fans back then.
Chelsea was quick to fill the void left by the Belgian. Signing some big names this summer. But Frank Lampard is yet to find a balance between his attack and defense. Hence, some Chelsea fans took to Twitter to invite their favorite forward back to Stamford Bridge.
Lampard has some issues to resolve
As the fans feel, Chelsea still lacks some sync in their lineup. Having names like Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea were hoping to have a solid lineup. But we have seen the Blues struggled on multiple occasions lately.
Frank Lampard also understands the issue at hand and hope to resolve matters soon. Chelsea are yet to find a balance between their frontline and backline. We see them score two or three goals in some games and concede the same as well. And when they do secure a clean sheet they fail to score.
But a comeback for Eden Hazard to Chelsea looks way out of possibility. Moreover, Hazard himself is happy at Madrid and will look to give in to his maximum for Real.
‘I’m here to play football, after two or three months off the pitch, I’m so happy, I just want to play football. That’s why I’m here.’Hazard told CBS, via Goal.
Chelsea will play their next UCL group stage game tonight. after drawing to Seville last week, Lampard and co hope to secure a win tonight. Frank will also be working on getting the balance of his squad to promote further into the UCL.
Zidane wants to be cautious
Considering Hazard’s long injury record, Zidane wants to slow down his return. The Belgian picks up injuries fast and the Los Blancos don’t want him to be unavailable for a couple more months.
Hence, Real will only encourage a gradual return for Hazard to allow the star to gain his full potential. We saw the winger make a debut to the season last night. Zidane will make sure to play Hazard in a similar way until he feels Hazard is at his maximum.
As for the Chelsea fans who were dreaming of his return to Stamford Bridge. That dream may not come true anytime in the near future. Meanwhile, Frank Lampard will try to provide good results for the Blues in the coming days with his expensive squad.
