Commonwealth Games 2022 India: Indian star-studded Badminton squad looking for a clean sweep. PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen & Kadambi Srikanth are back in action after their recent heroics

Commonwealth Games 2022 India: Indian Shuttlers will be back in action after record-breaking 2022. Indian PV Sindhu would be filled with confidence, after defeating Wang Zhi Yi of China to win the inaugural BWF Super 500 championship.

Male Indian athletes are also fresh off a record Thomas Cup triumph. Lakshya and Srikant are both heavy favorites to win the gold at the CWG.

India will be aiming to outperform their performances at the next Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games after a fantastic showing at the 2018 Gold Coast Games. In the 2018 Commonwealth Games medal total the Indian badminton team won 6 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze.

The Indian badminton squad will be represented differently at the 2022 CWG thanks to the addition of Lakshya Sen, Aakarshi Kashyap, and the young duo of Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, along with old and seasoned competitors as usual.

Overall, given the thin field of competition, India has a very good chance of winning a medal in practically all badminton events at the upcoming Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. No Chinese or Japanese players will interfere with India’s pursuit. India should therefore return from the badminton competition with at least six medals, and perhaps they will also successfully defend their mixed team crown.
