The eagerly awaited Commonwealth Games 2022, to be held in Birmingham, are set to start on July 28, 2022, which is just one week away. India has sent a 215-person team to the major event, and over the course of 10 days, the athletes will compete in more than 16 categories.

The Indian team in the 2022 Commonwealth Games will aim to increase India’s medal total at the massive competition, which will get underway on July 29. The game, which was originally contested in 1930 in Hamilton, Canada, will now be in its 22nd iteration.

Even though shooting isn’t a sport on the CWG 2022 list, India is thought to be one of the competition’s strongest. The other leading medal prospects are New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and England.

Day 1 of the tournament will include matches between the Manpreet Singh-captained Indian men’s hockey team and the Harmanpreet Kaur-captained Indian women’s cricket squad. Sourav Ghoshal and Joshana Chinappa are India’s leading medal hopefuls in squash, and Shiva Thapa in boxing is someone to keep an eye on.
