The blues will meet the La Liga giants on Tuesday. Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte says his team has been working really hard their strategies for Barcelona and they will not leave any stone unturned to beat the favourites.
The Blues welcome the La Liga leaders to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Chelsea will need a perfect match to overpower their opponents.
Conte seems very optimistic about the match and says Barcelona is not infallible and seeks to exploit “weakness without the ball”.
“We have been analysing this team for a long time,” said Conte.
“We started one month ago and analysed this team”
“We are speaking about one of the best teams in the world. We have to try to have the perfect game and to try to make the best decisions for this type of team.’’
Antonio Conte insists Barcelona are not infallible and that it would be dangerous for his rejuvenated team to focus solely on stopping Lionel Messi – who has never scored against Chelsea – when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening. “This is a different opponent. They have a fantastic characteristic with the ball, but they can have a weakness without the ball and we must try to exploit this.”
Barcelona star player Lionel Messi has failed to score in eight previous matches against Chelsea – his worst record against any single club. Chelsea believes to carry on the tradition this season also.
Speaking on Messi, Conte said, “If we focus on just man-marking Messi, it can be very dangerous.”
“I hope that we maintain this tradition but we are speaking about a fantastic player,” said Conte.
It’s going to be a big match on Tuesday evening at Stamford Bridge. Both the teams will seek for a perfect match. Chelsea is not going to have an easy way out against their opponents. At the same time, the Catalan giants can’t take the blues too lightly because that’s what makes football interesting.
