Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is speculated to be in pursuit of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, who is headhunted by several clubs in Europe.
Antonio Conte wants the long-time Arsenal target to replace French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko who is yet to impress the fans and the critics.
The 24-year-old France International has been struggling ever since his £40 million move from Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco.
Jean Michael-Seri was approached by FC Barcelona earlier this season but had their bid rejected by Nice’s president.
Despite signing Ross Barkley as an addition to the midfield, Conte is adamant to supply more depth to the midfield with the addition of the 26-year-old.
Other clubs in pursuit of Jean Micheal-Seri
Chelsea is not the only club looking for the services of the dynamic midfielder. As per The Metro, Premier League and Ligue 1 leaders Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing the Ivory Coast International.
The clubs are willing to match the player’s €35 million buyout clause. Manchester City is looking at Seri as a potential replacement for Yaya Toure whose future remains uncertain at The Etihad. Whereas Paris Saint-Germain is attempting to bolster their midfield which lacks depth.

The Ivorian is also reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League. Seri has been a crucial player for Nice this season having played 1400 minutes and providing 4 assists.
Jean Michael-Seri would be a huge asset to the club he joins. The midfielder has an impressive passing percentage of 91% this season and has played a huge role for OGC Nice as they lie 6th in the table. The Ivorian could be an ideal replacement for Bakayoko and could complement well alongside N’Golo Kante. However, the Blues must not rush in and give up on Bakayoko this quick as the Frenchman could improve with time by his side.
