On Friday afternoon, a shocking report emerged in London stating that Chelsea star has been dropped from the team after a dispute over fitness with the coach.
According to the latest sources, Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be moving to China in this transfer window. Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes has already arrived in China to discuss with the chairman of Tianjin Quanjian on Friday.
Sky Sports reported that Antonio Conte has dropped Chelsea forward Diego Costa for their next match against Leicester on Saturday at King Power Stadium. The report suggests that Spaniard was left out of the squad after a dispute with a coach over his fitness. Costa hasn’t trained with the first-team for three days, but the manager and coach believe that Costa is perfectly alright.
Move to China:
As per the rumours, the 28-year-old forward has received a £30m-per-year offer from a Chinese club. This means that Costa will become the highest paid footballer in the world if he decides to move to China.
He will earn £576,000 per week, which is almost the three times what he is earning at Chelsea. The Chinese club is set to offer £80 million for this highly rated Chelsea striker. Recently, Costa also admitted that he had plans to leave Chelsea last summer, but somehow he decided to stay.
It is understood that Costa involved in an argument with the fitness coach and later Conte entered into the scene. According to Sky Italia, Antonio Conte ended the row after shouting “Go to China!”.
As per the Standard, Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes has arrived in China to discuss a deal with Tianjin Quanjian. Later Mendes and the club chairman also took a picture with a Cristiano Ronaldo jersey. As a result, there has been increased concerns that Costa could be on the verge of leaving Chelsea. In addition to that, Chinese club Tianjin also has the capacity to buy one more foreign player, which could possibly be Diego Costa. But there has been no further confirmation on this news.
In his third season with the Blues, Costa has also been one of the best players in the Premier League throughout this campaign. He is currently the top scorer after scoring 14 goals in Premier League this season. Since arriving in 2014, the Spaniard has scored 51 goals for Chelsea from 99 appearances across all competitions. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has no intention of selling Costa.
