CPL 2020: Sheldon Cottrell runs out Amir Jangoo with pinpoint accuracy.

Caribbean Premier League has by far been a treat to the supporters across the world. The 24th game of the ongoing CPL between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKP) and Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) turned out to be a one-sided affair.

Trinbago Knight Riders have been the powerful side so far. The table-toppers already made it to the semi-finals. On the other side of the coin, all is not well for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

SKP can no longer qualify for semi-finals after their dismal track record in the tournament. They are placed at the bottom of the points table. They are ruled out of the knockout stage of CPL.

CPL 2020: Sheldon Cottrell's terrific run-out to dismiss Amir Jangoo

Sheldon Cottrell displayed sheer fielding effort during the game against the Knight Riders. The incident took place in the third over when the pacer Cottrell bowled a short-pitched ball at Amir Jangoo’s ribs.

Amir middled the ball towards the mid-wicket region and tried to take a quick single. The pacer Cottrell quickly collected the ball and hit the stumps. Amir Jangoo looked in disbelief as the ball traveled much faster before he could reach the non-striker’s end.

It was a magnificent piece of run-out by Sheldon Cottrell. The bowler positioned himself in such a way that he could swiftly aim at the stumps. Much to his decisive calculation, Cottrell managed to hit the stumps accurately.

Amir Jangoo’s miscalculation put him on the backfoot as there was no chance of taking a single. SKP might be ruled out of the tournament but Cottrell’s spectacular effort on the field was surely worth watching.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lose 7 games in the tournament

TKR and SKP brought the best out of themselves in a bid to outsmart each other. However, the Knight Riders channelized their aggression in the right way and went on to win the match.

Lendl Simmons announced his return in a grand fashion by taking the bowling attack to the cleaners. While he was en route to scoring a massive century, unfortunately, he got out on 96.

TKR breathed a sigh of relief after Simmons and Darren Bravo laid the foundation. The vital 144-run partnership steered the Knight Riders to post 174.

Chasing a 175-run target, the Patriots hardly had any answers to TKR’s bowling set-up. Pravin Tambe, Akeal Hossain, and Sikandar Raza ripped through the defense of SKP and restricted them to 115/7.

Patriots lacked the killer instinct to ace the run-chase, thus losing the match by 59 runs. SKP had a disappointing season as they swallowed seventh defeat in CPL.
