CPL 2022: The Incident Took Place in the 25th Match of CPL
Odean Smith of the West Indies, an all-rounder, had a wild CPL 2022, smashing five sixes in one over against the Jamaica Tallawahs. The incident happened during the 25th CPL game between the Tallawahs and the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
After Gudakesh Motie was out in the 16th over, he entered the field. Before Smith arrived, Guyana Amazon Warriors were in trouble with a score of 98/7. The captain gave the ball to Migael Pretorius to bowl the 18th over.
They were certain they could sum them up under 130. But they had no idea what Odean Smith was planning. In Pretorius’s 18th over, Smith hammered five sixes in the span of a split second. He scored 31 runs in one over. The all-around player for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) displayed absolutely powerful and savage hitting.
He lived up to his name in the Caribbean. Guyana posted a total of 178 thanks to Odean Smith’s 42 (16). In the final three overs, they scored 78 runs. The cruelty displayed by Keemo Paul and Smith was at that level.
Ian Bishop Praises Oden Smith
On the social media site Twitter, former West Indies batsman Ian Bishop hailed and appreciated Odean Smith’s performance. Following his excellent performance in the IPL 2022, Odean Smith gained notoriety. Additionally, he was chosen for the West Indies team to compete in the next T20 World Cup in Australia. His improving performance will increase the West Indies’ faith in the competition.
The Jamaica Tallawahs lost a wicket early in the chase. But Brandon King was the team’s driving force. A fantastic hundred was recorded by him, including eight fours and six maximums. However, his effort was in vain because the squad was short by 12 runs. They were dismissed for 166 runs. Guyana’s confidence will increase after the victory as they are currently experiencing a disappointing season. In the points chart, they are last.
