BBL: The ongoing BBL match between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades is currently taking place at Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns.
Brisbane Heat captain Jimmy Pierson won the toss and opt to bowl first. Melbourne Renegades largely benefitted from the services of Nick Maddinson.
The left-handed batsman made the headlines today after he initially thought that he was dismissed hit wicket in the ongoing fixture.
The southpaw tried to play a lower pull shot which also saw the bail coming off the stump. The timing of the bail falling from the stump triggered the opposition players into thinking that he was out hit wicket.

Nick Maddinson who was confused by this also thought that he was out and started walking off. However, the TV replay suggested otherwise.
The video clip suggests that the wind coming into the picture forces the bail to fall on the pitch. The incident has gone viral on the internet.

Maddinson had no clue what had happened until he watched the replay on the screen and breathed a sigh of relief upon knowing that the wind made a difference.
Nick Maddinson went on to become the top run-getter for Melbourne Renegades. He chipped in with 87 runs off 49 balls where he slammed 10 fours and 3 sixes.
On the other hand, Kuhnemann and Bazley took three and two wickets for Brisbane Heat. In the end, Melbourne Renegades managed to post 166/7 in their quota of 20 overs.
