IPL 2023: At the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on Friday, Ajinkya Rahane was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for his base price of Rs. 50 lakh. The only other team to pursue Rahane was CSK.
Ajinkya Rahane‘s season in 2022 was cut short by a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rahane was released prior to the December mini-auction after accruing 133 runs over seven innings at an average of 19.00 and a strike rate of 103.90.
Ajinkya Rahane’s finest performance came against Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural game for Knight Riders, when he scored 44 points in 34 balls. He only managed mediocre results of 9, 12, 7, and 8 in the subsequent four encounters, too.
Ajinkya Rahane has previously played for the Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, the Mumbai Indians, and the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants.
Having not participated in a Test match since January, Ajinkya Rahane has fallen out of favor with the national selection committee. Although He is now Mumbai’s 2022–23 Ranji Trophy captain.

IPL 2023: Rilee Rossouw & Joe Root Went unsold
Meanwhile, the opening bids for the batters Rilee Rossouw from South Africa and Joe Root from England were rejected. Root’s basic price was INR 1 crore, compared to Rossouw’s base price of INR 2 crore.
This year in T20Is, Rilee Rossouw is in fantastic shape. He has scored 372 runs at an average of 46.50 in 11 games and 10 innings, with two tons. In the T20 World Cup in Australia, he also got a century for the Proteas.
In his 88 total T20 matches, Joe Root has 2,083 runs in 80 innings at an average of 32.54, 13 fifty-plus scores, and an SR of 126.70. Today in Kochi is the IPL 2023 auction.
