Jofra Archer is likely to return to the competitive circuit in the early part of 2023, after recovering from the injury. Archer last featured for England against India in a Test fixture in February 2021.
Unfortunately, Jofra Archer could not be part of the subsequent series due to his long-standing issues, which required surgeries. The tearaway fast bowler was due to return to domestic cricket in the 2022 season, but the diagnosis of a back injury further delayed his comeback.
As a result, Jofra Archer could not be part of the champion England side in the T20 World Cup 2022. However, the latest reports about Archer’s recovery in encouraging, and have again kept the fans interested in witnessing his arrival on the international stage.
Moreover, Mumbai Indians have also retained Jofra Archer for the upcoming IPL 2023 Season. The development certainly indicates that the pacer will be taking part in the 2023 season as well.

Currently, Jofra Archer is in UAE along with the 15-man Lions training group from November 6. The camp also witnesses some players preparing for the Pakistan series slated to be played next month.
According to an ECB spokesperson, the 27-year-old has been making rapid progress during his rehab in UAE. The spokesperson also added that Archer is on course to play competitive cricket from early 2023.
“He is currently in the UAE with the England Lions team and is continuing his rehab. He is making excellent progress and the view is that he will be looking to play competitively again during the early part of 2023, said an ECB spokesperson.
Archer is working with James Anderson, who will fly to Pakistan soon for the three-match Test series. The fast bowler will certainly be targeting the IPL 2023, Ashes 2023 and eventually the ODI World Cup 2023.
