BAN vs IND: Indian captain Rohit Sharma must be really disappointed with the way his team performed in the first ODI against the Bangladesh cricket team.
Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma ran through a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Tigers in the ODI series opener at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
Rohit Sharma failed to bring the best out of himself as a batsman despite getting off to a pretty decent start to the game. The Indian skipper scored 27 runs including 4 fours and a six.
Rohit Sharma and Co posted a total of 186 runs in 41.2 overs before the Tigers chased down the target in 46 overs. The hosts won the game by one wicket in Dhaka.
They are just a win away from winning the series. Rohit Sharma and Co will be looking forward to doing well in the must-win encounter against Bangladesh.
The second of the three-match ODI series will kick off on December 7 (Wednesday) at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. It remains to be seen which team will come out on top this time.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Co have been preparing well for the second game against the Bangladesh cricket team. Indian players were seen sweating it out in the nets ahead of the game.
Moreover, a picture of Rohit Sharma attempting to play a reverse sweep has been doing the rounds on social media portals. The Indian skipper hasn’t been in good form of late.
Even during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, he scored just one half-century to his name as he failed to produce a batting masterclass in other games.
After India’s defeat against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma said, “It was a very close game. We did pretty well to comeback into that position. We didn’t bat well. 184 wasn’t good enough, but we bowled pretty well and they held their nerve in the end.
“If you look back how we bowled right from ball one – of course we would have loved to bowl better at the end – but we bowled pretty well for 40 overs and took wickets. We just didn’t have enough runs. Another 25-30 runs would have helped,” Rohit added.
