When the results are not in favour of India, then obviously, the BCCI would take strict calls. Earlier, reports were rife that there would be a new T20I captain for India.

The reports added that Hardik Pandya was leading the race to become the next T20I captain for India. Hardik Pandya has had success as a captain in IPL.

With two years to go, there is still plenty of time for the management to try and experiment with the available resources. Meanwhile, in the latest development, BCCI took a bold step by sacking the entire selectors including Chetan Sharma.

It is quite obvious that the BCCI took the decision after India’s unexpected exit from the semi-final of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invites applications for the position of National Selectors (Senior Men). Candidates who wish to apply for the said position need to fulfil the following criteria for their applications to be considered,” said BCCI in a statement.

“No person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee (as defined in the rules and regulations of BCCI) for a total of 5 years shall be eligible to be a member of Men’s Selection Committee. Applications should be submitted by 1800 hrs IST on November 28, 2022,” the statement added,
