A lot will rely on the opening pair of each IPL team this season. It is important that the teams get a comfortable start from their openers which is always the mantra in the shortest format.
Best possible opening combination for each IPL team
Gujarat Titans – Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade
Gujarat Titans released Rahmanullah Gurbaz and they don’t have a lot of options for the opening slot. Want it or not, Gujarat Titans will have to go with Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade as their recognized opening pair.
Rajasthan Royals – Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler
Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler could well be the best opening pair in this IPL season. They have an explosive batsman in Jos Buttler who can take the game away and a calm personality in Sanju Samson.

Delhi Capitals – Prithvi Shaw and David Warner
Prithvi Shaw and David Warner are the best possible opening combination for Delhi Capitals this IPL season. However, with, David Warner out for a few weeks, Delhi Capitals will have to find another combo.
Punjab Kings – Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow
With Mayank Agarwal gone, Punjab Kings have a superb chance to restructure their setup at the top. Shikhar Dhawan will give slow but steady starts while Jonny Bairstow with his aggressive batting will try to overtake the opposition.
Kolkata Knight Riders – Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer
Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been doing brilliantly for the Afghanistan cricket team. While Venkatesh Iyer is completely out of form. This combo doesn’t sound exciting but it could be one to watch.
