IND vs AUS: Indian captain Rohit Sharma talked about his interaction with Ravindra Jadeja because of his continuous DRS appeals during the third test match. Indore Test is now a thing of the past and the Indian Team would want to forget how they were bundled out for just 109 runs in the first innings.
DRS availability becomes crucial in Indian conditions for every team as the bowl spins a lot in the subcontinent due to which the umpire’s decision could be wrong at times. The Indian team wasted 3 reviews on Day 1 of the Indore Test whereas, DRS became a significant factor in Australia’s win.
Out of the three reviews wasted on Day 1, two of those were wasted in the consecutive overs of Ravindra Jadeja. After making some poor LBW appeals that resulted in the loss of all three DRS reviews on Day 1, Team India faced criticism from both fans and experts.
In the pre-match conference of the fourth and final test match, Rohit Sharma discussed the poor calls taken by the team in the third test match.

“On every ball, he thinks (the batter) is out” Rohit Sharma on Ravindra Jadeja
During a pre-match conference, Rohit explained the difficulties of DRS, and compared it to a lottery where success is not guaranteed. He highlighted the importance of understanding various aspects of DRS such as pitching and impact.
Rohit commented on Ravindra Jadeja’s tendency to assume that every delivery results in a dismissal. Rohit explained how he has to intervene and advise him to take a moment to relax and assess the situation before making a DRS decision.
“Jaddu yaar. On every ball, he thinks (the batter) is out. He’s quite animated, it’s the passion of the game. Vahan mera role aata hai, bhai thoda relax karo. Stump ke aas paas ball lagega toh theek hai, idhar toh stump me bhi ball nahi lag raha tha.“
“Pitching bhi bahar tha. (My role comes there. I tell him to relax a bit. The ball wasn’t even near the stumps there. They didn’t even pitch in line). A silly mistake that we made. We hope to correct that in this game,”. Rohit said about Ravindra Jadeja in a pre-match conference before the fourth test match.
