Chris Gayle praises Virat Kohli: Chris Gayle, the West Indies legendary cricketer, recently recalled an unheard story from RCB including a very stunning remark from then-skipper Virat Kohli that still amuses him.

During their time together at Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers created one of the deadliest batting trios in T20 history. They set numerous batting records and century stands.

Gayle mentioned in an episode of ‘My Time with Virat’ on JioCinema that while the two had a terrific friendship, there was a certain amount of competitiveness in terms of who gets the most runs.

“Batting with Virat Kohli was just fantastic. I like the passion he has for the game. I like his passion and his work ethic, it’s fantastic. You have to give him credit for that and he wants to show it with his performances,” Chris Gayle stated.

Gayle highlighted the level of competitiveness between him and Kohli by telling a story. He narrated how Kohli responded once when the former won the Orange Cap from him during an IPL season.

“When I became the Orange Cap holder. He was like, ‘man this guy just came in, bang bang bang, and became the Orange Cap holder?’ It was just a funny thing that I’ll always remember,” remarked the left-handed batsman.

Gayle left Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017 and was signed by the Punjab Kings in 2018, where he stayed for three seasons. Gayle, on the other hand, was full of praise for Virat Kohli, praising his passion and work ethic.

Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli both spent numerous seasons in the IPL. They smashed opposing bowlers and thrilled the audience at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The duo has ten-century partnerships.

Royal Challengers Bangalore fans welcomed Virat Kohli to M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the team’s first practice session ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023.

Kohli arrived at the RCB camp on Sunday and participated in a practice session in front of a crowded Chinnaswamy Stadium. The former RCB captain was bringing his kitbag into the stadium as fans in the terraces cheered him on.

The batting legend chuckled with Glenn Maxwell during the training session. The two rejoined as teammates after playing against each other in the three-match ODI series.

The 34-year-old had a disappointing IPL 2022 season, scoring 341 runs in 16 matches, but his side did well and advanced to the playoffs. Virat Kohli, however, has rediscovered his form and is ready for any challenge in the IPL 2023.
