The Delhi-based team is one of the original teams in the IPL and has been in the league since its first season in 2008. The Delhi Capitals were known as Delhi Daredevils but changed their name to their current name, in December 2018.
As of IPL 2019, the team is officially named “Delhi Capitals”. The team’s new name refers to Delhi’s importance as the nation’s capital. Sadly, Delhi Capitals were never able to lift the IPL trophy.
Delhi Capitals has so far played one final which was in the year 2020 under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer against Mumbai Indians. They have reached four times in the semi-finals of the IPL championship so far. The home ground of Delhi is Arun Jaitely stadium, Delhi.
