IND vs AUS: In what comes as bad news to the Australian cricket team, Josh Hazlewood is reportedly ruled out of the first two Tests against Team India.
Australia will lock horns with Team India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series. The first Test is scheduled to be held on February 9, Thursday.
The Test series is just a few days away from going all guns blazing. It remains to be seen which team will use their resources to better effect in the series.
After the end of the Test series, Team India will take on Australia for the three-match ODI series. Australia’s record in Test cricket in India hasn’t been that impressive. The last time when Australia won the Test series in India was back in 2004. Since then, they failed to find a way to stop unstoppable India.

The last time when the Aussies toured India, they won the first Test match but failed to win the Test series. India got the better of the Aussies by 2-1 in the Test series.
The first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series will kick off at VCA Stadium in Nagpur. The second Test will kick off on February 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
IND vs AUS: Big Blow for Australia as Josh Hazlewood reportedly ruled out of the first two Tests
Josh Hazlewood is yet to recover from the Achilles injury on his left leg as per a report in Cricbuzz. The lanky paceman sustained the injury after bowling in the Sydney Test against South Africa last month.
On the other hand, the pacer didn’t make a presence in Australia’s pre-series camp in Alur, which is located in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
While Josh has been ruled out of the first Test, there is a huge possibility of missing the second Test as well. It is due to the fact that there is hardly any time for him to recover.
He is expected to be back in action for the third Test at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. On the other hand, Scott Boland might play the first two Tests in Josh’s absence.
“Not sure about the first Test. It’s still a few days away but it’s sneaking up pretty quickly. Second one is obviously straight after as well. So, we’ll play it by ear over the next week and next few days and hopefully, Tuesday goes well,” Hazlewood said before Australia’s final session at the KSCA Stadium in Bangalore.
“Just a bit of workload management at the moment. Just managing the Achilles. I was bowling a fair bit leading into the tour at home and sort of just pushing up against it,” he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
