IND VS NZ: On Wednesday, January 18th, Indian cricket team history was made when captain Rohit Sharma became only the second player ever to score sixty or more sixes against four international teams.
The 35-year-old opening batter achieved the milestone when he hit his second six against the New Zealand cricket team in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Rohit Sharma‘s feat was made even more impressive by the fact that he surpassed MS Dhoni’s long-standing record for most sixes at home.
IND vs NZ: The Hitman hit the record-breaking 125th ODI six in India with one of the most comfortable cover drives in the 1st IND VS ODI, held in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
However, the Indian skipper got out for 34(38). The two sixes during that momentum-setting knock were enough to put him on the record books.

IND vs NZ: The Universal Boss Chris Gayle was the first player to hit sixty or more sixes against four opponents in all formats of international cricket, with Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa being the teams he achieved the feat against.
Former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi has also managed to hit it against three opponents. It was the Men in Blue’s current ODI skipper, Rohit Sharma aka The Hitman, who took up the second spot behind Gayle.
Rohit Sharma has hit the most number of sixes against Australia, accounting for a total of 107 sixes across all formats. Compared to the rest three opponents, against whom Rohit has scored 60 or more sixes.
With West Indies bowlers hit for a ‘maximum’ for a total of 81 times, 76 maximums against Sri Lanka, and 60 sixes against the Black Caps.
He has also hit 64 sixes in Tests, 265 in ODIs, and 182 in T20Is. While representing India in 45 Tests, 239 ODIs, and 148 T20Is, Rohit has scored 3137, 9630, and 3853 runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, respectively.Rohit Sharma is evidently one of the most prolific big hitters that Indian Cricket has witnessed.
