IND vs SL: Virat Kohli’s reaction has become the talk of social media in the ongoing IND vs SL game. India’s youngster Shubman Gill was chosen to open the innings alongside skipper Rohit Sharma in the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Guwahati.
Meanwhile, fans questioned Ishan Kishan’s absence from the playing XI. The youngster recently slammed his first-ever ODI double century in the third ODI against Bangladesh.
Notably, it was also the fastest-ever double century in the fifty-over format. However, the selectors went with Shubman Gill instead in playing XI for the ODI opener.
Needless to say, Shubman Gill didn’t disappoint as he played a superb brand of cricket. The right-handed batter impressed the cricket fraternity by playing classy drives in the first of the IND vs SL series.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma set up a rock-solid foundation during the first IND vs SL game. The duo added a 143-run stand for the first wicket before Gill departed for 70 runs.
The youngster constructed his innings with the help of 11 boundaries. Moreover, he maintained an impressive strike rate of 116.67.

During the first IND vs SL game, Shubman Gill got lucky as he survived the dismissal, thanks to the umpire’s call. Dunith Wellalage bowled a superb ball to Shubman Gill.
The youngster decided that it was right to defend the ball in the first place. However, he ended up missing the line of the ball. Thus the ball hit both the pad and bat, leading to confusion.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli literally couldn’t believe Shubman Gill’s luck as the latter had a lucky escape. The video clip of the same has gone viral on the internet.
Team India posted 373 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 50 overs. Virat Kohli scored 113 whereas Rohit Sharma scored 83 runs.
