We witnessed something similar in the ongoing IND vs SL ODI. Where Virat Kohli just effortlessly pulled a shot on the onside. Now, the recent form of the 34-year-old right-handed batsman has been as such that whatever shot he plays just races toward the boundary. It is safe to say that the KING is back!
Meanwhile, the pull shot was placed perfectly by Virat Kohli on the penultimate delivery of the 43rd over in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka ODI. It caused a nasty collision between two Sri Lankan fielders – Jeffrey Vandersay and Ashen Bandara.
While the ball was racing toward the onside boundary. As a reactionary, the two fielders from deep midwicket and deep square leg position started to run towards the ball.
Jeffrey Vandersay decided to dive in front to save the Kookaburra from touching the ropes, as Ashen Bandara tried sliding in to save the ball.
By the initial looks of the collision, it looked horrific. But later on, upon physios’ treatment and observation, it was turned out that Vandersay could continue. However, Ashen Bandara was taken away on the stretcher while getting applauded by both sets of fans. He was holding on to his right knee, as he was taken away in the third and final IND vs SL ODI.

On another note, Virat Kohli scored his second century in the IND vs SL series. This triple-figure haul in Thiruvananthapuram also marked his third in the last 4 ODI innings. In Addition, this was Virat Kohli’s 46th ODI Century and 75th in overall competitions.
