Javed Miandad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a firm decision not to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup which will be held in the September window.

In fact, India and Pakistan haven’t played a bilateral series since 2012 owing to the escalating tensions between both nations.

However, both teams have been facing each other in the ICC and Asia Cup events. With Pakistan being the hosts for the Asia Cup 2023, India remain reluctant to travel to Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup tournament.

India and Pakistan locked horns with each other in three recent meetings (twice in Asia Cup 2022 and once in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022).

“India can go to hell if they don’t want to come to Pakistan to play cricket. I’ve always backed Pakistan. And you know that I don’t leave spare India whenever an issue arises. But the thing is we need to look at our part,” he said.

“And we should fight for it. We don’t care because we are getting to host our cricket. This is ICC’s job. If ICC can’t control this there’s no use of the governing body,” the 65-year-old added in a public event.

“They need to implement similar rules for every team. If teams like these don’t come, they should be debarred. India hoga, apne liye hoga. Hmare liye nahi hai,” he added.
