Ravindra Jadeja traps Mitchell Marsh, IND vs AUS: After retaining the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the record fourth time by 2-1, the first ODI between India and Australia is being played at Wankhede, Mumbai The hosts opted to field first against the mighty Australians after winning the toss.
Hardik Pandya is captaining the Indian Team as the regular captain Rohit Sharma is currently busy with his brother-in-law’s wedding. However, Rohit will be back for the 2nd and 3rd ODI against India.
India seamers started off their opening spell with success as Mohammed Siraj got the early wicket of Australia’s inform Opener Travis Head. Siraj bowled his last ball of the second over at 139.6kph, on a good length around off. Head gave him the charge but couldn’t middle it as the leg stump went rolling towards the keeper.
After the first wicket, Australian captain Steve Smith came down to bat at no. 3. As soon as Smith played his first ball, he looked settled along with Mitchell Marsh. The duo added 72 runs for the second wicket until Smith got caught by KL Rahul while cutting Pandya’s ball.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh held his end tight and batted aggressively since he came down to bat. Indian bowlers looked clueless he kept hitting sixes and fours. He was batting at a strike rate of 125.
Finally, his inning came to an end as he got trapped by Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja tossed up the ball knowing Marsh will go for a hit and it all happened as the bowler expected. But instead, he bowled a wider line which took a thick edge off Marsh’s bat and went up in the air toward Mohammed Siraj and he did not make a mistake.

Mitchell Marsh opened the innings as David Warner has not fully recovered. Josh Inglis was given the wicketkeeping whereas Glenn Maxwell makes his comeback after a wrist injury. Australia’s batting is quite deep as compared to India’s.
