IPL 2023: 3 Young Left-Arm Fast Bowlers Who Could Replace Mukesh Choudhary at CSK

Mukesh Choudhary CSK: According to reports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pace bowler Mukesh Choudhary would miss the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Choudhary was CSK’s top bowler during a poor season in which they placed ninth in the table. The left-arm bowler took 16 wickets in 13 games at an economy rate of 9.32 and wowed everyone with his powerplay delivery.

Every club will want a left-armer in their speed assault, and CSK may be persuaded to restock their reserves by dipping into the unused pool from the IPL 2023 auction. They are also going to prioritize young talent who can help the squad in the long term.

Here are three young talented left-arm bowlers who potentially step in for Mukesh Choudhary at CSK in the IPL 2023.

3. Mujtaba Yousuf:

Mujtaba Yousuf of Jammu and Kashmir has been circling the IPL scene for a few seasons now, yet he has not exactly found a franchise.

Yousuf is a left-handed runner who can throw the ball both ways and has a repertoire of modifications. The 20-year-old has appeared in 21 T20s, taking 20 wickets at an average rating of 7.67.

Yousuf has even got support from CSK icon Suresh Raina, against whom he bowled in domestic cricket. Raina stated:

“I competed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy alongside Mujtaba (Yousuf). He has excellent motion and control as a left-arm pace bowler.”

2. Sushant Mishra:

In the just-finished league campaign, Sushant Mishra performed only three games in the Vijay Hazare Tournament. And he did not appear in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Nonetheless, he has a number of advantages.

Mishra is from Jharkhand, and CSK captain MS Dhoni would undoubtedly know a thing or two about him. Monu Singh, for example, has played for the state’s Men in Yellow.

Mishra hasn’t featured in an organized T20 match yet. Yet he’s been in the mix since his heroics in the U19 World Cup. For the IPL 2022 season, the 22-year-old youngster took over for Saurabh Dubey at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Mishra, a tall thrower who can hit the deck hard and scoop up stumps in the middle innings, might give the Super Kings’ bowling assault a different element.

1. Arzan Nagwaswalla:

Arzan Nagwaswalla is the most accomplished bowler on this roster. Maybe the nearest approximation CSK has to a substitute for Mukesh Choudhary.

Nagwaswalla has 35 wickets from 25 T20 games at an average rating of 6.78, with one four-wicket success and one five-for. The 25-year-old, who can drive the new ball in both directions and bowl cutters at will, may play Choudhary too brilliantly.
