David Miller IPL: The eagerly anticipated IPL cricket tournament has hit a snag with South African players missing the opening games of the season.
The Proteas squad’s ODI series against the Netherlands is clashing with the IPL schedule. Cricket South Africa has not allowed centrally contracted players to participate in IPL. Until their national team’s commitment is fulfilled.
While IPL teams may be unhappy about the situation. It is a commendable move on the part of the South African players to prioritize their national team over the IPL.

It is not the first time that South African players have missed IPL games due to international commitments. However, this time around, the decision is not in the players’ hands.
It is the cricket board’s call, and the players must comply with it to maintain their national team’s integrity and priority.
“It’s always a big thing playing in Ahmedabad, especially in an opening game against Chennai. I am a bit disappointed to be missing that, but to put on the green and gold has always been a huge privilege and honour.“
