IPL 2023: Punjab Kings (PBKS) are one of the few franchises who are yet to win the trophy since the inception of the Indian Premier League.

Earlier, they were referred to as Kings XI Punjab. However, they changed their name to Punjab Kings in 2021 for a change of fortunes.

Needless to say, that was not to be. The Mohali-based franchise made it to the finals of the competition in the IPL 2014 season. However, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.

However, since then, they failed to qualify for the playoffs because of their near misses. Although they had quality and depth in their line-up, they failed to produce good end results in crucial games.

Talking about their approach in the IPL 2022 season, they entered the tournament as dark horses because of the intelligent signings that they made in the auction.

Despite having plenty of experienced and talented prospects in the squad, they still failed to make it to the playoffs under the leadership of Mayank Agarwal.
