Will Jacks, IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) haven’t won a major trophy since the inaugural edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League. They made it to the finals on three occasions but lost all of the encounters.
Royal Challengers qualified for the playoffs in the previous season of the Indian Premier League under the captaincy of veteran cricketer Faf du Plessis.
As it turned out, they finished fourth on the table. In addition, they also eliminated Lucknow Super Giants from the competition. However, they lost to Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Will Jacks is all set to miss the entire season owing to an injury. Will Jacks was purchased by RCB for Rs 3.2 crore in the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi on December 23, 2022.
RCB made up their mind to sign him so that he would operate as a perfect backup for Glenn Maxwell. Unfortunately, Will Jacks picked up an injury while fielding in England’s second ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
At first, it was said to be a low-grade injury. However, as it turned out, scan reports revealed that Will Jacks sustained a muscle injury and that it will take him some time to recover.

Since Jacks is out of the team’s plans, Royal Challengers Bangalore is in advanced talks to sign Michael Bracewell as the potential replacement for injured Will Jacks.
For the unversed, the New Zealand all-rounder was part of the IPL 2023 auction but went unsold at the auction. He set his base price at INR 1 crore.
Meanwhile, RCB will kick-start their campaign on April 2. They will play their first game of the next season against Mumbai Indians at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
