Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to take a new route after the announcement of the list of released and retained players for the Indian Premier League 2023.
The five-time IPL champions have now put an official announcement on their core players for the 2023 season. The trio of captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are now called the core of the team, who would take the team forward.
Rohit has been an inspirational leader of Mumbai Indians, while Suryakumar made it to the Indian team with his terrific performances for the team. The tearaway pacer Bumrah missed the 2022 season due to injury but plays a big part in MI’s scheme of things.
Unfortunately, Kieron Pollard retired from the IPL and will be a batting coach for the franchise. However, the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Dewald Brevis and Tim David possess many talents to fill the boots of Pollard.

Moreover, Jofra Archer will return from the 2023 season and will be an automatic pick in the XI. Also, the IPL auction scheduled for next month will see MI securing the services of experienced players.
IPL 2023: Arjun Tendulkar to be part of Young contingent of Mumbai Indians
Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar would continue to be working on his skills under the MI management. He marks his presence in the Young Contingent along with Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, MD Arshad and Akash Madhwal.
Among them, Shokeen featured in five matches of IPL 2022 and bagged two wickets, and also scored 43 runs.
“The young Indian contingent of Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, Arjun Tendulkar, Md. Arshad Khan and Akash Madwal all continue another season of learning and honing their skills under the watchful eyes of the coaching team of Mumbai Indians,” MI said.
