Just before the mini-auction that would take place on December 23, 2022, in Kochi, the 10 IPL franchises disclosed the names of the players they had kept and dismissed. For the IPL 2023 season, the players that the Mumbai Indians Team decided to maintain and transfer have also been made public.
Mumbai Indians needed to fill a few positions going into the IPL 2023 Auctions. With the exception of Cameron Green, the team did not make any significant acquisitions at the tournament. The franchise does, however, have a balanced unit for the next year. Here, we examine the Mumbai Indians’ starting 11 for the 2023 IPL.
IPL 2023: Predicted Playing XI of Mumbai Indian
Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) and Ishan Kishan (WK)
The Mumbai Indians’ starting 11 for the IPL 2023 season will feature Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan as the openers. Ishan Kishan has recovered his form and will play a significant role for MI in the starting XI. Rohit Sharma deserves a berth as the captain, and his performance will be crucial for the team.
Middle-Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Tristan Stubbs
Last year, in order to make room for the new players in the top order, SKY had to bat at No. 4 or No. 5. But if SKY doesn’t play at No. 3, it would be a blow for MI given his current form.
The spinners will be the main challenge Tilak Varma will face during the middle overs. Dewald Brevis might not receive many opportunities with Cameron Green in the starting XI. Tristan Stubbs would therefore be a better fit for this combination.
All-Rounders: Cameron Green and Tim David
Cameron Green is certain to be in the starting XI after being bought for INR 17.5 Cr. For the team, Tim David and Green will have to complete games. While Tim David’s off-spin would also be crucial for the team’s balance, Green will undoubtedly deliver a few overs with the ball.

Bowlers: Jofra Archer, Kumar Kartikeya, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshad Khan
In the starting 11 of the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2023, Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah will be the backbone of the pace attack. As the starting spinner, Kumar Kartikeya will be supported, and MI is having some difficulty finding a No. 11 player. Since there are few alternatives, Arshad Khan might have a chance. Arjun Tendulkar may also have a chance in this situation.
