IPL 2023: Over the years, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have had some high-profile players in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The current roster has players like Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer making lucrative trades clearly putting their worth aside. But at the same time, RR has always been a franchise that trusted young players and allowed lesser-known names to express themselves at their IPL level.
Rajasthan has a number of players who sign low-budget deals and offer the franchise more than the price tag suggests.
Here are their 3 RR players worth far more than the IPL 2023 contract.
At first glance, Jason Holder‘s price seems fine. The Royals paid him Rs. 5.75 Crores for his services at the IPL 2023 auction, a sum that seems reasonable.
Holder is not a reliable death bowler and his batting has taken a hit lately. He also performed disappointingly in his IPL campaign last year with Lucknow super giants, although he managed to return some wickets on occasion.
However, the West Indian was acquired in a mini-auction, where other players of the same kind made huge sums of money. Holder is a clever new ball operator who covers all the holes in RR’s Game XI. With his participation, Sanju Samson and his associates will be able to play Obed McCoy ahead of the unexploded Trent Boult, and also improve the lower middle class.
Kuldeep Sen did his groundbreaking IPL campaign for RR last year. The pacesetter ran fast and in seven games he took eight wickets and his save percentage was 9.42.
Since then, Sen has made his debut with Team India and is ready to build something bigger and better. He was signed at his IPL 2022 mega auction for just 20 lakhs. That’s how much RR signed him ahead of this year’s event.
Fast bowlers will be a staple in their plans for IPL 2023, despite low prices. Sen could become a household name with a decent campaign on RR.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had his most productive IPL season last year. The young opener had the best IPL score of 68, averaging 25.80 and a strike rate of 132.99. He scored 258 runs in 10 games.
Jaiswal has made a name in all forms of domestic cricket and growing rapidly. He’s already quickly incorporated into the Indian senior team and it won’t be long before we see him in international action for senior teams.
With the southpaw uncapped, they got him in IPL 2022 mega auction with just 4 crores. Jaiswal has all the tools needed to become the jack of all trades and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he plundered the run at IPL 2023.
