One of the globally capped athletes who failed to find a buyer at the mega auction the previous year was Indian fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni. Kulkarni has played for the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the past, giving him a ton of IPL experience.
The fast bowler plans to play in the league again in the IPL 2023 campaign. For the forthcoming auction, Kulkarni has set a base price of INR 50 lakh after a brief stint as a commentator with Star Sports last season.
He was chosen for the Indian Test team for the away series against New Zealand in 2009 due to his steady performance in the domestic season and the IPL. However, he was not chosen to participate in any of the series’ three Test matches.

IPL Auction: Piyush Chawla is The Next On the List
Another player who served as a commentator last year but is included in the auction pool for the IPL 2023 campaign is Indian leg-spin bowler Piyush Chawla. Veteran leg-spinner Chawla played for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021 and the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020.
He was purchased by CSK for a significant sum in 2020. However, there were no games played at Chepauk that year. Because the IPL 2023 is switching to a home-and-away format, Chennai might think about renewing his contract.
