IPL Auction 2023: The Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is about to don the Mumbai Indians uniform after the team signed him for a staggering INR 17.50 Cr. The Australian bidder received tremendous interest from other franchises when his bid was in the INR 2 crore range.
Intriguingly, the five-time IPL champions and Royal Challengers Bangalore started a fierce bidding war during the auction. However, because RCB has a little kitty and must manage their finances, the rapid increase of paddles was stopped.
The bidding war then went on with Delhi Capitals, who challenged Mumbai’s franchise for first place. In the end, it seemed like Mumbai valued Green’s skills somewhat more than the Delhi team did, and they paid a huge sum to obtain him.
In 21 T20 appearances, Green has scored 245 runs, including two half-centuries, at a strike rate of 137.64. Additionally, he has five wickets in eight innings and has attracted a lot of attention as a result of his outstanding achievements this year, which have rocked the international circuit.

As the amount exceeded Rs. 10 crores, Delhi Capitals also joined the fray. Even after the 15-crore mark, the Capitals and Indians competed for the player.
Green’s price surpassed numerous records, but Mumbai Indians persisted and eventually acquired the player. “We’ve been following Green for two to three years and thought he was just what we needed. We’ve been looking for younger players for a few auctions, and he fits the correct age profile for us,” Akash Ambani said.

IPL Auction 2023: “It will be an exciting opportunity” Cameron Green
He disclosed earlier in November that he was willing to play in the lucrative T20 league in order to gain experience, and that he believed that exposure to the competition would help him improve as a player in the shortest format.
“I have registered for it. It will be an exciting opportunity. Speaking to a lot of guys, especially in the WA (Western Australia) set up about their experiences in the IPL, they speak so highly of it. They speak about the quality coaches that you are around, the quality players that you are around. They are all the best in the world at their craft,” Green.
A source close to the BCCI, the cricket’s governing body, revealed on Thursday that Green, Ben Stokes, and Sam Curran will all be available for the full 2023 league. The declarations follow what appeared to be a disagreement over the national matches and IPL games clashing at the same time.
Franchises will, however, be relieved that the players won’t miss the league the next season and aid them in the competition. Mumbai Indians supporters will be thrilled to have the all-services rounders and will be hoping to win their sixth IPL championship in 2023.
