IPL Auction 2023: The much-awaited mini-auction of the Indian Premier League is slated to take place on Friday (December 23) in Kochi.
The final list for the IPL Auction 2023 consists of 405 players, including 273 Indian and 132 overseas players. Most of the top stars have been retained by the franchises ahead of the event.
However, there is enough excitement on some big names, who have expressed an interest in playing IPL 2023. The likes of Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Joe Root, Harry Brook and Cameron Green are some overseas stars, who have performed well in the international circuit.
In fact, Curran was named Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2022 and will be a hot favourite among franchises. Few players also missed the 2022 edition, and as a result, will have to endure the auction process after getting released by the franchises.

Players like Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran and Mayank Agarwal were some shocking releases from the franchises. It will be interesting to witness their names in the IPL Auction 2023.

IPL Auction 2023: Players with a base price of INR 1 Crore
A total of 20 players mark their presence in the list of players with a base price of INR 1 Crore in the IPL Auction 2023. As discussed, the most prominent one is Mayank Agarwal, who was released by Punjab Kings.
Joe Root will feature in the IPL Auction for the first time ever. The spinners, Mujeeb Rahman and Akeal Hosein, who playing for Melbourne Renegades in BBL 12 are other top players. Moreover, Tabraiz Shamsi, one of the finest spinners is in the same category as well.

Daryl Mitchell, Matt Henry, Michael Bracewell, Kyle Jamieson and Tom Latham are New Zealand players in the 1 Crore base price of IPL Auction 2023. Australian players like Moises Henriques, and Andrew Tye have put up their reserve price as 1 Crore.
Further, David Wiese is likely to be topping the list in terms of best all-rounders in the list. With plenty of experience in T20s, the 37-year-old can attract a few franchises.
Remaining purse of franchises ahead of IPL Auction 2023
With a maximum of 30 overseas slots needing to be filled, the franchises will be wary of their remaining salary cap. Sunrisers Hyderabad has the most purse amount of 42.25 Crores left to spend in the IPL Auction 2023.
