Jemimah Rodrigues was the talk of the town for her stellar heroics against Pakistan Women during the ongoing edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.
The epic encounter between India Women and Pakistan Women was a visual treat to spectators from across the world. When India and Pakistan lock horns with each other, there is nothing short in terms of entertainment and thrill.
It was truly a roller coaster ride as the game could have gone either side. However, India Women were sharp and clinical in clutch moments as they won the game by seven wickets.
Had it not been for Jemimah’s grit and determination in the run-chase, it would have been a different story altogether. Jemimah Rodrigues put up a great fight in the run-chase and helped the team ace the run-chase.
Batting first, Pakistan Women posted 149/4 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Bismah Maroof top-scored with an unbeaten 68 off 55 balls including seven boundaries.
In response, India Women chased down the target with an over to spare. It was a huge win for India Women and it was indeed a heartbreak for the Pakistan Women’s team.

The right-handed batswoman showcased a great deal of calmness and maturity in the run-chase. As a result, she was able to guide the team towards the finishing line.
Jemimah Rodrigues top-scored for India Women with a remarkable match-winning half-century. She chipped in with an unbeaten 53 off 38 balls with the help of eight boundaries.
India Women ended up at 151/3 in their quota of 20 overs. India Women’s wicketkeeper-batswoman Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues added a 58-run match-winning partnership for the fourth wicket.
Jemimah was named the player of the match for her match-winning knock. “I don’t know what to say. I knew building partnerships, taking it deep we’d end up chasing, she said after the game.
“Richa and I have built a partnership against Bangladesh, and we could do this today. This inning is really special to me, I haven’t been getting runs for a while but I’ve stuck to his processes,” she added further.
